Back-Stab | Paintball Game Variations
Back-Stab is another paintball game that involves players that have multiple lives, also known as multiple eliminations. Back-Stab is also a game that involves players changing sides, so that your friend one minute can be your enemy the next minute, and vice versa. This game is more for fun than anything else, since no player really has a vested interest in any particular team. In this game, the players are divided into two teams of equal strength, who begin the game near two different starting points. When the game begins, the players on either team approach and try to eliminate the other. When a player is tagged, they go back to their starting point, and then join the other team. The two teams battle on, until one team has been totally eliminated or until time runs out on the game. If the time expires before one team has been totally eliminated, then the team with the most players wins the game. Though players have multiple lives, players are still out of the game after a certain number of hits taken.
In the Back-Stab paintball game, a player must go back to their starting point and subtract a life after each hit taken. When a player runs out of lives, they are out of the game. Back-Stab paintball games usually last between 20-40 minutes. The team with the most players when time expires wins the game. One team can also win the game by eliminating all of the players on the other team. Players in games like these use goggles like the JT Sportz-Comm Mask and the Empire Vents Helix Goggles to keep their eyes and head safe throughout the game.

Other elimination format games where teams win by eliminating the other players include Sole Survivor. In this game, the objective of the game is not a team objective but an individual objective. This game usually begins with about 20-30 players who play for themselves rather than for a team. In one variation of the game Sole Survivor, the players begin the game scattered all over the field, trying to eliminate each other and searching for a single flag placed somewhere on the field. The first player to find the flag grabs it and calls out that he has it. Then the flag holder tries to hold the flag for the rest of the game as well as eliminate the other players on the field. If the flag holder is eliminated, he throws the flag down and is out of the game. The objective of the game is to be the player holding the flag when time expires, or to be the last player holding the flag if all the other players have been eliminated. If the last player standing does not have the flag, he gets 2 minutes to find it. If the flag is not found, then the last player who had the flag wins the game.
Paintball games such as Golf, Goliath, Sole Survivor and Back-Stab are popular on fields such as Big Sky Paintball in Shelbyville Tennessee and Grace Xtreme in Franklin Tennessee.
