Elimination
Elimination is one of the oldest paintball games and one that is still played today. In this game, each team tries to eliminate all the rest of the other team by tagging them out with paintballs. This contrasts with other player elimination games where each player is on his one, and the last player standing wins. In this game, the team that loses all of its players first loses the game. These are usually quick games that are played when there are not enough players available for more elaborate games. Getting the right matchups are usually the goal in these games. In these games, individuals on teams almost always travel in groups of two or three, hoping to get 2 on 1 or three on one matchups. Once these small squalls get the right matchups they flank their opponent and attempt to eliminate him. If successful, they then move on to the next player. Other paintball games that people often play include Fox and Hounds, Pink, Cutthroat, Reincarnation, and Megagame. Megagame is also known as Big Game.
Its always fun to play a variety of different paintball games to keep the home field that you play on interesting if you live far from any other arenas. The game Gladiators uses a number of different type of props that you would have never through of using in a paintball game. In this match, players can either buy shields from some type of store, or make their own cardboard shield before the game. In these games, players are still allowed to use the semi-automatics or stockguns of their choice, but in this game they can also use shields to block enemy projectiles coming at them. Players can usually create these shields in any size that they want to, but they should not be more than 30 inches long or 20 inches wide. Players can fashion a handle in the back of these shields to hold it, but they may not cut a hole anywhere in it to stick a barrel through to shoot. Shields usually need to be as thick as two layers of cardboard to endure the battle and paintball impacts. The muzzle velocity usually needs to be lowered to under 250 fps for the shields to hold when impacted. The Gladiators format can be combined with the Capture the Flag format or Elimination.

In the game Gladiators, each player has a marker and a shield for blocking shots. Players can block as many shots as they like with this shield, but they should not contact another player with this prop or come within 20 feet of another player. If two players do come in close contact with one another, they usually call a 10 second truce to back up and gain separation. The first time to achieve total elimination or capture the flag wins the game. Players can play on any type of fields in these games. Gladiators is especially popular on fields where there are very few natural bunkers or where the bunkers that are there do not provide that much protection. Other unique paintball games include Ten Shot and One Shot and Sentinels.
