Washington D.C. Paintball Fields
Washington D.C. is the capital city of the United States of America and the center of the executive, legislative, and judicial branch of the Federal government. Congress, the Supreme Court, and the White House are all located in Washington DC, as well as many other prominent buildings Such as the reflecting pool, Jefferson memorial, and the Washington monument. Washington DC, the District of Columbia, was founded in 1791 as the world's first planned national capital. It's a city of architectural splendors and unforgettable moments, where the striking image of the Washington monument is never far from site and stirring memories of the young democratic Republic are never far from mind. The Washington D.C. was built as a functional center of government, there are many great attractions to see that include the Federal buildings as well as many museums and memorials. Washington's world-class museums, parks, and vibrant arts scene make it an American showcase. Washington even has its own professional sports teams, including the Washington Wizards (basketball), Washington Redskins (football), and Washington Nationals.
Washington D.C. hosts Federal buildings such as the White House and Congress that are both tourist destinations as well as buildings where laws are proposed and ratified. Other buildings around the district honor our national history, the various cultures that make up our country, and the people that founded it. Some of the most well known museums of the district include the Smithsonian Castle, the National Museum of the American Indian, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and the National Museum of American History. The giant National Museum of American History traces the social, political, and technological history of the United States. Other great places to visit in D.C. include the Franciscan Monastery, Theodore Roosevelt Island, the old post office building, the Frederick Douglas national historic site, and Blair house.
Though there are currently no Washington D.C. paintball fields listed on websites like paintball.com and warpig.com, there are a couple of fields in the area where athletes can play. Some paintball fields in the Washington D.C. area include Paintball Shooters in Laurel Maryland and Outdoor Adventures Paintball in Bowie Maryland. Outdoor Adventures Paintball has the slogan that they are "Simply the Best-Since 1998". Outdoor Adventures has events and special events in all disciplines of airsoft and paintball. Upcoming 2007 airsoft events include Snake Hunter presented by OA Scenario Productions, and Black Hawk Down on June 24. Outdoor Adventures also has 5-Man speedball tournaments with dirt cheap entry fees. OA Paintball wants any paintball team to be able to compete in local tournaments free of economic barriers. On June 10th 2007, OA will host an Almost Free 5-Man Tournament in cooperation with the Global Paintball League.
Other Washington D.C. paintball fields located near the D.C. area include Hogback Mountain Paintball in Leesburg Virginia. Pev's Paintball sells products such as the VForce Profiler and Proto M7 paintball gun at their ProShop. Pev's has a number of special events slated for summer 07, including the Labor Day-Open on September 3rd 2007.
