The United States has such an influence on political policy, human rights, and economics in other parts of world. Taft, and John F. Kennedy. The United States is so many great things to so many people. To immigrants, the U.S. was a haven from political oppression, poverty, and economic despair. The United States from the very beginning has represented a promised land of new opportunity, untouched resources, and religious freedom. The United States has also been a land of hardworking laborers and white collar workers, and it has also been only a land that hasn't embraced recreation and entertainment. People in their free time have flocked to America's beaches, lakes, rivers, and roads for activities such as rafting, running, sunbathing, football, and even baseball. America has also been the birth place for a number of new sports in the 20th century. Some sports that have become very popular in the last 50 years include racquetball, skateboarding, volleyball, wakeboarding, rowing, water basketball, and paintball.
