Minnesota Paintball Fields
Any state that can have a professional wrestler known as Jesse "The Body" Ventura as its governor can't be all that bad. Minnesota is a land of beautiful landscapes and frigid winters. Minnesota is a Midwestern state. Minnesota has Lake Superior at its northeastern border and its tallest mountain is Eagle Mountain at over 2,500 feet above sea level. Minnesota is known as the land of 10,000 lakes. Because of its green lands, thousands of lakes and hundreds of national forests and parks, Minnesota has become a popular destination for travelers who love the great outdoors.
Though Minnesota is a large state at nearly 90,000 square miles, most of its population lives in close proximity to Minneapolis and Saint Paul, its two largest cities. Minneapolis is the most populated city while Saint Paul is the State Capital. Together, the two cities are known as the Twin Cities, and they are the homes of many financial companies, sports teams (Minnesota Twins), and prosperous industrial parks. The rest of the state is known as greater Minnesota and is much more sparsely populated.
Minnesota is the northernmost state outside of Alaska. Minnesota is the heart of the U.S. region known as the upper Midwest. Minnesota, though its lands has undergone many changes (see the ice age) contains some of the oldest rocks found on earth. Some of the rocks discovered at its surface are over 3.6 billion years old, or 80% as old as the planet. Though the state is called the land of 10,000 lakes, there are actually as many as 11,842 lakes in Minnesota. Some of Minnesota's many beautiful lakes include Lake Agassiz, Lake Superior at its eastern border, and Lake Itasca.
The citizens of Minnesota are committed to athletics rain, shine, or snow. In the summer, some popular outdoor recreational activities include water sports such as water skiing, fishing, canoeing, and wakeboarding. In the winter, Minnesota athletes ski and play football. Some competitive athletic programs for the sport of football include the Minnesota Vikings (NFL) and the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.
