Though the word tombstone may conjure up images of death and despair, in paintball the Tombstone bunker has saved players from thousands of eliminations. The Tombstone bunker is one of the more common bunkers you will see on speedball fields at the major tournaments. Though you will you will still see giant bunkers like the X and the Car Wash at the center line, after the other bunkers around them are the smaller and thinner bunkers designed to accommodate a single occupant. Bunkers like the Tombstone, Half Moon, and Cube can usually accommodate a single player, thus forcing the other players to move horizontally and up the field. This bunker arrangement and style encourages a lot of player movement and keeps the game moving along at an interesting pace.

The Tombstone bunker available from Sup' Airball is one of two sizes: the Tombstone the big Tombstone is a little taller. The Tombstone 4 feet wide and 4 feet high, and the Big Tombstone is 4 feet wide and about 5.5 feet tall. The Tombstone bunker is like the shape of the Brick but is arched at the top of the structure. The Tombstone bunker has a similar shape as the Half Moon, but the Half Moon has less of a vertical straightaway underneath the arch at the top. The Tombstone bunker is a kneeling bunker that players must sometimes need to get down on one knee behind to evade elimination. Because of the sample size and shape of the Tombstone, it is an often used inflatable at speedball fields such as Area 51 Paintball Field and Canobie Paintball. Canobie Paintball is located in Windham New Hampshire, and offers fields of all shapes and sizes and for all playing styles. Canobie cruises along with regular rec game hours, and then turns it up a notch for their special events. Some special events include a paintball feature called "Big Game Time" that is taking place on April 29th, 2007. Big Game Time draws more paintball enthusiasts than any other event in New England.
