Spike | Inflatable Bunker
The Spike inflatable bunker makes a big statement whenever it is on the grid, with its giant height of over 1 2feet and its width of around 10 feet. The Spike bunker offers players a lot of protection from speeding projectiles, and has saved countless players from elimination the Spike is similar in shape to a guitar pick whose points and is pointed up. The Spike has two angled sides that meet at a point at the top of the bunker. The Spike bunker is 10 feet wide and 13 feet high, and often makes an ideal bunker at the center of mid-field. Other centers of midfield bunkers include the X, the Car Wash, and the Millennium M. There are several manufacturers of the Spike bunker, including Sup'Air Ball. Sup'AirBall also produces the Tombstone, Half Moon, Wedge, Burger, and Bumper.

If you are looking to paintball fields to practice on to prepare for your next tournament, there are probably several in your area. At Camp Paintball, the prices are inexpensive because the field is owned and operated by players. On their airball field, Camp Paintball will host a 3-man Tournament called the Dead Leaf Open. To complete in the Dead Leaf Open, players must pay a pre-registration or day of the tournament registration fee plus purchase field paint. The teams that earn the top 3 rankings are awarded trophies and bragging rights. The Dead Leaf Open will take place on their Airball field. In addition to their airball field, there are several other fields to choose from for the players interested in the more natural conditions. Camp Paintball also has a Tire field, Gauntlet Field, Fort Field, and Village. The village field has a huge 20 foot wide wall bunker that connects two trees and is made up of 4 feet tall wooden log stacks. The Village also has a wooden fort enclosed on 4 sides by wooden walls. The players who manage to make it to these bunkers unharmed have a significant advantage over any would be attackers who cross their path. Camp Paintball's AirBall field consists of a natural level earth surface and inflatable bunkers such as the Beam, Dorito, and Half Moon. Bunkerfest is one event that uses Sup'Airball bunkers for their big events. Over 125 teams show up for bunkerfest tournament games every year, and 2007 promises to be no exception. There is so much interest in Bunkerfest matches that the game highlights are made into DVD movies. Bunkerfest will be played simultaneously over 5 Sup-Air Fields. Their airball field formats include 1 mirror image air field, 2 X-Ball fields, and 2 X-Box Sup-Air Fields. Contact the tournament promoters at Animal to see if the Spike bunker is offered.
