Kneeling Bunkers - Kneel Down Bunkers
Kneeling bunkers are bunkers that players can get behind without getting hit by a speeding paintball. These types of bunkers have also been called Kneel Down Bunkers. While with tall inflatable bunkers like the cylinder and the brick players can stand behind and still protect themselves, on bunkers like the cube and the half moon players must kneel to keep from getting the top of the their body exposed. Some kneeling inflatable bunkers would include the short temple, the short wings and the short dorito. The temple, wings, and dorito are all bunkers that come in the same basic shape and proportions, but come in many different sizes. The largest versions of the three bunkers are stand-up bunkers, or bunkers that are tall enough for players to stand-up and still be able to protect their body. Other bunkers are only able to protect players if they lay down behind them, so they are called lay-down bunkers. The most famous lay-down bunkers are the snake and the beam. The beam is cube shaped, but is much longer than it is high. The beam is layed vertically on a paintball field. When a player is standing behind the beam, it comes up to about his waist, but it is long enough and tall enough to protect him if he is laying down. The beam by itself is usually just longer than the length of a paintball player, and is just big enough to protect one person. But if multiple beams are layed end to end in various diagonal patterns, they can combine to make up the famous snake pattern.

Multiple beams can be layed end to end to form a custom snake pattern. Usually, 4 beams are combined to make the snake. There are also snake bunkers that can be bought that are actually shaped like snakes, with a snake head and a curing torso that travels from the head and curves back and forth towards the tail. The snake by Sup' Airball is about 2 feet tall and is available in two sizes, with the longest one about 40 feet long. Because of the long length of the snake bunkers, players can travel a long distance along it without being able to be seen. This gives the person crawling along the snake a big advantage. First, the snake crawler can travel long distances up the field without getting fired upon. Also, the snake crawler can get up out of the snake at any time and stark firing on his opponents. Since their opponents won't know where he is in the snake, they won't be ready to fire upon him when he leaps up and starts firing. In contract, when a player gets behind a kneeling bunker like the tombstone, it is small enough for an opposing player to aim his marker at a small target, even if he can't see the player behind the bunker.
Other kneeling bunkers include the wedge, and the half moon. The wedge is kind of shaped like a slice of pie, and layed flat on the ground. The wedge comes in the same shape but two different sizes, with the bigger one tall enough to be a stand-up bunker. There are a number of fine manufacturers that produce inflatable bunkers, including Extreme Rage and Ameri-Brand Products.
