Cylinder / Inflatable Bunker
The Cylinder is one of the most common inflatable bunkers you will see on the tournament field. The cylinder is usually a tall bunker, taller than the player, enabling him to stay standing because of its spherical features, it allows players the ability to rotate around the bumpers to avoid projectiles coming his way, and it allows the player the ability to get into position to take shots at the enemy. This ability to rotate around the bunker is an advantage that a player behind the brick doesn't have. With the brick bunker a player only has one side to hide behind before they become exposed to the enemy. Other bunkers that allow players the ability to rotate around them include the dorito, temple, and cone. Also cylinder bunkers are nearly the same width, but they do differ in height. The cylinder bunkers usually come in three different sizes: medium, regular, and giant. Medium bunkers are about 5 and a half feet tall, Regular cylinders are about 6 and one half feet tall, and Giant Bunkers are about 10 and a half feet. There are even Mega Cylinders that are about 10 and one half feet tall. The cylinders are usually about 3 feet wide, which is wide enough to provide players with enough protection from the enemy even at all angles. The cylinder is a common bunker seen at tournaments hosted by leagues such as the German X5, Australian National Tournament Series, and Deutsch Paintball Liga. The cylinder is one of the most common bunkers and is produced by paintball manufacturers such as Sup' Airball, Ameri-Brand Products, and Extreme Rage.

Extreme Rage does not produce the same variety of inflatable bunkers as companies such as Sup' Airball, but the ones they do make are extremely durable and they are often available at a great price. Some of the bunker shapes available from Extreme Rage include the Cylinder, Tombstone, and Half Moon. The Half Moon is unique from the other two bunkers just mentioned because of its height. The Half Moon is usually about 4 to 5 feet tall, and the player must kneel behind it to avoid getting tagged. The Half Moon is a staple at tournament series matches such as the NPPL Super 7.
The cylinder and the Half Moon will be field obstacles at NPPL events such as the NPPL Super 7 World Series Tampa 2000 Event. The Tampa Florida will receive flash bulb and electronic media coverage from paintball magazines such as Facefull, Splat, and Paintball News. The Tampa championship will drop up to 200 professional paintball teams from the four corners of the globe. Some of the proteams that will be in attendance at the World Series Tampa Event will include Jersey Authority, Ironmen, DC Arsenal, Chicago Farside, Sacramento Excessive, and Edmondton Impact. Other NPPL events coming up in season 2007 will include a LIVE Free Webcast at Tampa Event from beginning to end.
