A paintball bunker is any kind of fortification that is set up on a field that protects you from enemy fire. In the military, a bunker is a defensive fortification that is built to defend against an enemy fortification. In the military, bunkers ere used for above and below ground purposes, particularly in World War I and World War II. In these wars, the name of the game was pulverizing an enemy target and taking land one section at a time. Land was taken via air assaults, and ground assaults. When a given track of land was taken and secured, bunkers were built to protect this territory, and for permanent bases of operations for high ranking soldiers and generals. Bunkers during the world wars provided protection for soldiers after land was secured and for protection from bombs during the Cold War. In all of these military events, above and below ground bunkers provided snipers with fortification points to shoot from, protection from enemy fire, and for loses of operations where generals and Team leaders could formulate strategies for winning the conflict.
Like military style fortresses, a paintball bunker is often a man made fortification that serves teams protection from enemy fire and as a base of operation for team leaders. Though some paintball bunkers are natural and underground, most are man made and above ground. Most paintball bunkers are constructed of wood or tough skinned inflatable. All well made bunkers are able to withstand paintball impacts and are constructed well enough to lean against hold up to the elements. The type of paintball bunker used in the game many, depending on the type of game being played.

This means that if you plotted the placement of the bunkers on a sheet of paper, all you paintball bunkers would touch of you folded both sides in half.
