Bunker - The Physical Object
The paintball term bunker can refer to two things in this sport. One term refers to the physical object that is used to shoot from behind and avoid enemy fire. Another term refers to the action or driving right at an opponent and laying down paint in order to eliminate him.
Bunker - The Physical Object. There are many things on the paintball field that a player can use to elude the incoming fire from the enemy. To not get hit by paintballs, a player may run into a natural trench, behind the rocks, or behind the trees. On the field they are on may have a series of manmade objects that are designed to provide cover from paintball projectiles as they move from station to station. A bunker is defined as a wall or mound on a paintball field constructed to give one or more players cover while they shoot or advance towards a destination that will enable them to accomplish their objective. Bunkers can be any type of manmade structure that will provide a player protection from incoming missiles. I have seen bunkers made from natural products stacked up high (logs) two industrial objects that have been converted to paintball bunkers (real retired military planes and tanks) to the types of bunkers specifically made for paintball (inflatable bunkers). In tournament games, the inflatable bunker is ideal because that allow for fields that can be put together quickly, and they allow for fields that can be manipulated so that one side can perfectly mirror the other.
The Inflatable bunker gives the tournament event promoter unlimited options for the way that he wants to the design his fields. While woodsball fields like Real McCoy Paintball Field offer rugged terrains over variable elevations and ground surfaces, tournament fields are carefully designed and laid out from bunker to bunker. Each Bunker ball field is carefully laid out with two halves of the field that have identical bunker layouts. The inflatable bunker is an ideal product for these types of games.
Inflatable Bunker. There are several lines of inflatable bunkers on the market that make for excellent recreational or tournament paintball. Kingman recreational bunkers offer field owners a chance to paint the field of his dreams, with its various defense points and angles for shooting and advancing toward the flag. Instead of just trying to work around the environments you inherited, field designers can dream up any type of field design that they can think of. While recreational games on these types of fields are still popular, the Kingman Recreational Bunkers offer the field designers the ability to create smaller fields that offer the type of fast action, fast shooting games that are popular with today's athletes.
Bunker - The Paintball Tactic. To bunker as a game tactic, means to charge at a player or opposing fortification with the intent of laying down paint on the opposition. The paintball tactic bunker is also referred to as "bunkering", and it is a bold move designed to overwhelm the opposing player in a move designed to eliminate him.
