Large Paintball Games
Large Paintball Games are fun because they have nonstop action, there is always someone to shoot at, and everyone can get in on the action. While tournament games like speedball are relatively shot, "The Big Game and other large paintball games take place over 24 hours and can have over 100 participants on each side. The bi game is actually what it sounds like, big! Everything is big in these large paintball games, including the paintball fields, the number of players involved, and the man made objects used. These games may often employ tanks, a smoke screen, and scale sized helicopters on the ground.
All of these huge objects sever to facilitate the illusion of a large scale battle. The bunkers and structures of the game are designed to represent objects that would be used in the period that his imaginary battle is simulating. In the event that the big game was made to represent a battle during the medieval period, a structure simulating a castle may be represented. In a battle representing a siege of the Alamo, a structure looking like the real Alamo may be constructed where one team is instructed to protect the Alamo from being overrun. Of course, with paintball as a shooting game, military conflicts are a logical inspiration for large paintball games.

Large paintball games usually take place over the weekend, beginning on a Friday, and most paintball players gong have a Sunday afternoon. The length of the Big Game usually ranges between 12-16 hours. Participating players and family usually camp out on the field, or stay overnight at a local hotel.
There are a number of new features and rules of the large paintball games that make these types of events unique:
- Elimination is not final. When you are eliminated from the game, you must go to a time out location, or a "dead zone". Once in the dead zone, you must remain there for a certain period of time, or until a buzzer puts you back in the game. Imagine how boring your trip cold be if you were eliminated in the first minute of a 26 hour match.
- The paintball players are expected to be honest about whether or not they are hit, especially since there are a limited number of referees and up to a hundred players. It would be impossibly to run smooth and fast paced large paintball games with players dragging the games down with paint-checks.
