Paintballs Rules to Live By
There are a number of universal rules to live by to succeed in paintball. These rules will help you succeed no matter what fields you play on, whether it be Paintball Quest and McCalla Alabama, or in Promised Land Paintball in Trevor, Wisconsin. While there are too many important paintball rules to account for in this one article, here we will highlight some of the most important ones. These paintball rules to live by will include how to be a good teammate, and how to keep the other side second guessing, or being one step ahead of them. Listed below are some helpful paintball tips and tricks.

- It is important to be confident and aggressive on the field, but that does not include always charging directly at someone. Taking a player head on usually results in an unsuccessful outcome. If you have the means and opportunity, try to approach from behind an opponent, or flank him from the right or left side. Screaming and yelling and going right at someone only works in Star Wars, and if your name is Hans Solo.
- Be careful about what you can see clearly. The noise and disturbance behind these branches may just be the wind, an animal, or even your own teammates. Hitting your own teammate means that he will usually be eliminated. And while you were spending the last minutes chasing around a squirrel, you could have been backing up one of your teammates.
- Always be aware of how much paint you have left in your loader. By paying attention, you will know when to stop and reload, and not get caught on empty while you are in the heat of battle. And make sure that you pick a time to re-load when you are out of harm's way. If you get caught needing to re-load while you are in range of the enemy, you will be fresh meat for them.
- Build a wide variety of paintball tactics for your game, and employ these skill moves unpredictably. If you keep using the same rules over and over again, you will make it easier for the opposition to mount a strong counter offensive.
- Before entering into a new game, make sure that you have enough CO2 in your bottle to sustain you for a whole game.
- If you are playing next to or in a field that contains wet markers, make sure that you bring an extra change of clothes, and make sure that you lace your shoes tightly. When heroic leaders talk about leaving it all on the field, they're talking about your effort, and not your shoe.
- Before playing do some research on irritants like poison ivy, ragweed, and poison sumac, and know how to identify each itch-making plant. Recognizing these plants will help you to avoid them, and could save you weeks of itching and scratching.
- Before entering an enclosed bunker or hut, be on alert, and be ready to shoot quickly if there are already other people in there. It is usually to defend an area than attack it, so be ever vigilant and use your best judgment.
- Pay attention to your body, and make sure none of it is exposed when you are bunkered. The posterior is an especially easy target to hit if you leave it exposed.
