Second Place is First Place For Losers
"As for the team being better than us, that's' what paintball is all about, beating the snot out of teams better than you. It's how a team builds confidence." Zak Paronto, Team Surge
Second Place is First Place for Losers is the mentality for fiercely competitive paintball players. Paintball games involve setting and taking pinpoint shots, shooting on the run, and ducking and diving behind defensive positions. The pierce battles are what make paintball the extreme sport that it is. Veteran paintball players take their games seriously, invest greatly in their paintball gear, and practice so that they will have successful outcomes in their battles. Passionate players play for a good time, and they play to win.
"Well personally I don't ever get intimidated. I would have to say always go into any match, any gun battle, knowing that you can beat the other person." XSU's, Thomas Taylor.

Consistently successful paintball players have one thing in common. They go into their matches knowing that they have what it takes to win. Project an air of confidence on and off the field, and go into every battle knowing that you have what it takes to win. Put in the time and practice your skills so that you will be ready for whatever comes at you on the field. Competitive players know the field they are playing on, maintain a top physical condition, and even research their opponents to discover their strengths and weaknesses. To win, you need to outthink and out-scheme your opponents, and have the physical training behind you to conquer all obstacles in front of you.
Simple formula. Hard Work & Great Paint = Victory
Chicago Evil Factory Team www.evil-paintball.com
While paintball may have started out as a sport that was played in the woods and other rocky terrains, it has become a very competitive extreme sport with fierce competition and fast action. If you and your teammate want tow win competitions, you must focus on your (?), strength building exercises, and practice to work together as a group. Put in the hard work so that you can elude enemy fire, and maintain a highly functioning paintgun.
Practice Builds Winning Skills
In order to be ready for game competition, you must practice between games as well. Set regular practice times between games, and get to the practice field early for stretching. Common practice skills and drills include hand and head signals, crawling, sniping, and shooting left and right handed from behind trees and bunkers. Other skill builders include shooting while running, zigzagging to bunkers, shooting long distance targets, and working with a teammate to snatch that flag.
"I guess there has always been the extra motivation from the beginning to prove to ourselves that we can be the best team in the world, not just top three". Quote from Thomas Taylor, of championship caliber XSV Paintball.
Thomas Taylor of XSV maintains that winning and not accepting second best involves developing the mind and body towards winning competition. Taylor lists keeping his team together, countless hours of practice, strength building, and not accepting second best as key ingredients to victory on the field.
